The Player Academy of Excellence (PLAE) is a value-based, family-centered, out-of-school-time academy that helps young people participate, learn, achieve, and excel - in school, in life, and in their future. Through literacy, mentorship, health and wellness, sports, leadership, and career preparation, PLAE provides the wraparound support and opportunities for every youth and family to thrive.

POTENTIAL IMPACT

WHERE WE ARE BEGINNING Northeast Philadelphia In partnership with Propel Academy and Abraham Lincoln High School, and with the support of the School District of Philadelphia, the first academy is directly serving 125 students while creating opportunities and connections for thousands of children and families in the surrounding school community.

ROOTED IN GARY AND VIVIENNE PLAYER'S VALUES

PLAE carries forward Gary's discipline, determination and belief in excellence, together with Vivienne's faith, compassion, generosity, passion for literacy and instinct to act whenever a child was in need. Their shared belief that every child deserves opportunity is at the heart of the academy.
