EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP
CHRISTIAN HOLLAND, MBA, M.Div. FOUNDING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
In Philadelphia, Christian Holland, MBA, M.Div, is a prominent non-profit leader and executive recognized for his nearly 30-year career in youth development, out-of-school-time (OST) programming, and workforce initiatives. He is the Founding Executive Director of the Player Academy of Excellence (PLAE), a position he assumed in August 2026.
Holland brings more than two decades of experience where he has driven impact in complex ecosystems, led organizational growth strategies, developed scalable programs, and advised national collaboratives committed to equity, education, and economic mobility. His reach extends globally through his appointment as a Commissioner for the Council on Accreditation (COA), where he supports the accreditation of youth-serving institutions across the U.S., Canada, and U.S. military installations around the world. His work has helped shape international standards for quality, outcomes, and accountability in services that impact millions of young people. Holland holds a B.A. in Psychology with a focus on Organizational and Cultural Psychology from Wesleyan University; an MBA from Benedictine University; and a Master of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology, concentrating in education, counseling, and administration.
TERESA S. THAM VP, PROGRAMS & OPERATIONS
Teresa serves as the Vice President of Programs and Operations at the Player Academy of Excellence, where she leads the design and delivery of high‑impact academic, leadership, and career‑connected experiences for youth across Philadelphia. With more than a decade of experience in middle‑grades and out‑of‑school time education, she has held key roles at Heights Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Youth Network, expanding access to enrichment, mentorship, and real‑world learning opportunities. The daughter of Ghanaian immigrants, Teresa’s work is shaped by her commitment to cultural identity, student voice, and safe spaces for young people to grow.
JUDITH OUMA FAMILY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
Judith Ouma, M.Ed. is an education professional based in the Greater Philadelphia area who serves as the Family Engagement Coordinator for the Player Academy of Excellence (PLAE). In this role, she leads family engagement strategies, community outreach, and partnership initiatives for the nonprofit out-of-school-time academy, which helps underserved youth build confidence, literacy, and life skills. Her work is closely aligned with The Gary and Vivienne Player Foundation USA, which sponsors the academy. An alumna of Rosemont College in the Philadelphia suburbs, she holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.).
NICK NIELSEN SPORTS & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
- Nick leads the afterschool sports curriculum and Saturday Day of PLAE, bringing structure, energy, and community‑centered leadership to the academy’s athletic programming. A graduate of the University of Utah with a degree in communications and a marketing emphasis, he designs sports experiences that build discipline, teamwork, and confidence in every student. As someone who was adopted, Nick understands firsthand the importance of foundation, belonging, and consistent care. His work reflects that belief: community comes first, communication stays seamless, and every decision centers the purpose of PLAE — THE KIDS. A proud supporter of Utes Football, the New York Yankees, and COYG, Nick brings passion, commitment, and heart to every Saturday event, field trip, and clinic he leads.
