OUR STORY
PLAE was created from a belief that excellence grows when young people have consistent access to opportunity, trusted adults, high expectations, and a community that sees their full potential. Inspired by the legacy of Gary and Vivienne Player and built for the strengths and needs of Philadelphia’s young people, PLAE brings together education, sport, leadership, wellness, and service in one whole-child model.
WHY PLAE
Talent is everywhere; sustained access to opportunity is not. Many young people encounter separate programs for athletics, academics, wellness, or mentoring. PLAE connects those experiences so growth in one area reinforces growth in another. The result is not simply better participation—it is stronger belonging, literacy, confidence, discipline, leadership, and readiness for what comes next.
